Here is a recipe to use both. We gave a box today in the pick-up with the last of the garlic scapes.<br \/>\n<strong>PESTO<\/strong><br \/>\nIn food processor puree:<\/p>\n<p>1 quart of basil leaves loosely packed and 2-3 garlic scapes<br \/>\n1\/2 cup olive oil<br \/>\n1\/3 cup ground almonds<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt (optional)<br \/>\n1 teaspoon lemon juice (or more to taste)<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)<\/p>\n<p>We have a had a busy month visiting with our daughter, Ellen and son-in-law, Aaron with granddaughter, Della who came for her first birthday.
