Orchard Hill Human and Horse Resources

Orchard Hill Farm is part of the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (or ‘CRAFT’) network of farms in Southwest Ontario – http://craftsouthwestontario.ca. Farming organically (particularly with horses) is a particularly hands-on skill, and there are not very many places to learn such skills – you can only learn so much from a book!

Our interns work on the farm in return for room and board as well as a stipend and are given instruction and hands on experience in organic farming practices. At Orchard Hill Farm, we provide the opportunity for interns to learn to care for and work with the draft horse as a main source of power on the farm.

There are positions for three interns for this season who are keenly interested in organic vegetable production using work horses in the field.  Sharing of expertise and experience as well as a stipend and room and board is offered in exchange for interns’ labour.

We are accepting applications for 2017, please email Ellen – info@orchardhillfarm.ca for more information.
